Sylvester Stallone 'Breaks Up A Fight' On The Set Of Creed

In a movie about fighting, you probably want a bit of fighting, but perhaps only when the cameras are rolling.

The New York Post’s Page Six reports that Sylvester Stallone had to step in to stop a potential scrap on the set of ‘Rocky’ spin-off movie ‘Creed’.

According to sources on the movie, the incident occurred between 32-year-old Liverpudlian boxer Tony Bellew and the man playing his corner coach.

It’s claimed that Bellew, who is playing a character called Pretty Ricky, turned on his co-star, with Stallone then coming to step in before punches were thrown.

The source said that Stallone ‘immediately flipped out’ over the incident and ‘began screaming’, sending the cast and extras on a break while filming halted.

Re-shoots were then scheduled for later in the afternoon, with a second source confirming to the paper that Stallone had stepped in to an incident.

It’s also said that the police were called.

Stallone has not commented on the alleged incident, but taking to Twitter, Bellew has denied all knowledge.

“Despite ridiculous media reports I’ve not been involved in any kind of ‘fight’ on set of #Creed! Or anywhere else for that matter #Pathetic,” he wrote.

The movie, currently shooting in Philadelphia (Sly recently posed for a selfie with unsuspecting fans on the famous Rocky steps), follows the grandson of Carl Weathers’ Apollo Creed from the Rocky movies, with Stallone’s character Rocky Balboa agreeing to train him.

'Fantastic Four' star Michael B. Jordan plays Adonis Creed, while Bellew is stars as his 'deadly' rival 'Pretty' Ricky Porter.

Speaking last year about his move from boxing into acting, Bellew told the Liverpool Echo: “I’ve been sought-after for a long time. I hope it’s a speaking part because no-one wants to look at this face if I’m not talking. My life’s going to change.

“I’ve had the contracts sitting in front of me for weeks because I wasn’t signing them. If this fight had gone wrong I wasn’t signing, I was going home to be depressed.

“I can’t go into the details but let’s just say it’s big. It will be 40-odd days of filming, I just hope I can do it.”

It’s due out at the end of November in the US. There’s currently no release date confirmed for the UK.
