Yahoo Movies The Conjuring Spin-Off Annabelle Gets Its First Trailer
The Conjuring was a smash-hit when it was released last year and it looks like the follow-up, entitled simply ‘Annabelle’, has what it takes to scare the pants off you too.
Not a sequel (in fact, it maybe looks more like a prequel?), the first trailer appears to show how the doll from the first movie got to be quite so demonic.

Starring Annabelle Wallis and Alfre Woodard, the actual plot remains under wraps, but it looks like it will feature blood, screaming and shock music cues. All the necessary ingredients for a cracking horror flick, really.
Emulating the original movie’s first trailer, there are more longish scenes rather than lots of crash cuts, as well as an introduction to the eponymous doll which terrified Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga first time out.

Seriously, why would anyone want a doll who looks like this in their house?
It seems like Annabelle is a gift from a husband to his pregnant wife, but things start to go wrong when the woman hears something awful going on in their neighbour’s house. When hubby goes to investigate, stabbing and death ensues.
Blood dripping into a doll’s eye and the same toy rocking gently on a chair as the scene fades out are two of the most memorable moments.
‘Annabelle’ will torture cinemagoers on 10 October.
