The Gunman Trailer: Sean Penn Goes Full Rambo In His First Action Movie

Sean Penn’s made his career being that brooding, slightly dangerous Brando type of actor, but now it seems the dangerous bit has taken precedent.

But it seems that Javier Bardem’s shady handler has other plans, forcing him to go on the run, and latterly to free his lover Jasmine Trica from the clutches of a man once his ally, now his sworn enemy.

Throw Idris Elba, British theatre legend Mark Rylance, and Ray Winstone into the mix, and there’s an entirely solid cast propping this international action-thriller up.

It’s Bourne meets ‘Taken’, with Penn looking as dangerous as he ever has, so we’re on board.

Based on the novel ‘The Prone Gunman’ by acclaimed French crime novelist Jean-Patrick Manchette, the movie is due out on February 20.
