Yahoo Movies The Lego Batman Movie Will Ask ‘Is Batman Happy?’
‘The Lego Movie’ was roundly regarded as one of the best films of 2014, and one of the main reasons for its success was its inclusion of Lego Batman.
Will Arnett masterfully voiced the miniature icon, and he did such a sterling job that when Warner Bros decided to capitalise on ‘The Lego Movie’s’ hue success by turning it into a franchise the first spin-off they ordered was a ‘Lego Batman Movie.’

Before now we didn’t really know what ‘The Lego Batman Movie’ would entail. But while talking to MTV, Will Arnett, as well as Chris Miller and Phil Lord, who wrote and directed ‘The Lego Movie’ and are producing its spin-off, revealed some more titbits regarding the hugely anticipated animated blockbuster.
And it turns out that the film will actually look to analyse the character of Batman, and it will even ask, ‘is he actually happy?’
After being asked an intimate question regarding the film, Lord teased, “I think the movie is really exciting because it’s about, ‘Can Batman be happy?’”
Then when it was suggested that the quick answer is ‘Batman can never be happy,’ Arnett proclaimed, “No, there is no quick answer. It’s a 90 minute answer.”
Lord also explained that Batman is the ultimate in “white people problems” as he is “rich, and handsome, and [has] a McLaren, and women like [him],” before he then conceded that the characters only real issue is “something about [his] parents.”
In the midst of their chatter the trio also declared that the action in ‘The Lego Batman Movie’ is “incredible,” with Will Arnett even adding that the brief bits that he has seen were “mind-boggling.”
However they refused to be drawn on whether Adam West, Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, George Clooney or Christian Bale’s Batmen would be included, even in cameo roles.
If that was to happen then we could officially close the book on what the best cameo(s) of 2017 will be, three years ahead of time.
‘The Lego Batman Movie’ will be in cinemas at some point in 2017, with ‘The Lego Movie 2’ following the year after.
