The Most 'Overrated' Films Of 2014 Revealed
The readers of reviews aggregator site Metacritic have voted ‘Interstellar’ the most overrated film of 2014.
Christopher Nolan’s epic science fiction film received strong-ish reviews from critics with a 74 per cent score on the site, but some Matacritic readers obviously decided this was too much praise.

Next on the list was Richard Linklater’s ‘Boyhood’, which earned rave reviews for it’s innovative shooting schedule that saw the director film the action over twelve years. Metacritic users however thought the acclaim was overdone.
Some of them anyway, as the film was also voted the ‘Best Movie Of 2014’ by a presumably different set of readers, with ‘Interstellar’ number 2 on the list. Make up your minds guys!
The mixed feelings of Metacritic readers shows the disconnect that sometimes happens between critics and ‘ordinary’ cinemagoers.
The big winner from the vote seems to be Wes Anderson’s ‘Grand Budapest Hotel’, which is number 3 on the ‘Best’ list, but absent from the ‘overrated’ line-up.
