Vin Diesel Hints At Role In Marvel’s Inhumans

After starring in Marvel’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ it looks as though Vin Diesel has his sights set on a bigger role… and that might well be a part in the upcoming ‘Inhumans’.

It’s no secret that Vin Diesel had been lobbying for a role in a Marvel comic book movie for some time… and after landing the part of Groot in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ it seems that his wish has been granted. Of course, the rather odd role saw him take to the big screen as a tree that could only say three words – “I am Groot”.

But could he be up for a more prominent role?

Heading to Facebook, the 47-year-old ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ star uploaded a rather revealing image… and it seems to hint that he may be involved with Marvel’s upcoming movie, ‘Inhumans’.

According to the comic books, the Inhumans are a race of superhuman beings that were genetically developed from homo sapiens by an alien race known as the Kree. Exposed to the Terrigen Mists, the Inhumans were granted a variety of superpowers… and now, led by the infamous Black Bolt, the Inhuman Royal Family have aided Earth’s superheroes to fend off a variety of threats.

And this is the first time The Inhumans will head to the big screen…

Of course, this is far from an official confirmation of Vin Diesel’s involvement… and could simply be another role film that he’s interested in joining. But if you ask me, Vin Diesel is the perfect person to play Black Bolt.

After developing a power known as the Hypersonic Scream, Black Bolt is able to level entire cities with just a whisper of his own voice… and for that reason, has become selectively mute to avoid catastrophic events.

And perhaps there’s a certain amount of irony in Vin Diesel landing the role after his recent stint as Groot…

But more importantly, The Inhumans aren’t exactly a household name. And while Marvel usually avoids stunt casting, I can’t help thinking that a big name such as Vin Diesel would help bring this obscure comic book movie into the public eye.

Whether or no he’s landed the role remains to be seen… but I can’t help thinking that Marvel would be mad not to sign him up.

‘Inhumans’ heads to cinemas on 26 October 2018.
