Will Pepper Potts Return In Captain America: Civil War?

It’s the first time since the MCU began – ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ will see Tony Stark without Pepper Potts. But will Gwyneth Paltrow return for ‘Captain America: Civil War’?

During an interview with Dish Nation, the 42-year-old ‘Iron Man’ actress claimed to know nothing about Pepper’s return but explained she’d love to reprise the role.

“I don’t know. I’ve heard rumors that maybe, and I don’t know,” she said when asked whether or not she’s been confirmed to return. “My fingers are crossed. I would love to be Pepper Potts again at some point in my life.”

Of course, Pepper didn’t exactly have much of a role during the ‘Civil War’ comic book storyline… and was actually married to Happy Hogan at the time, who was critically injured during the story. But that doesn’t necessarily mean that she’ll bow out of the big screen adaptation. After all, as Mandarin fans will often bemoan, the MCU rarely sticks exactly to the comic books.

For one thing, Pepper Potts is now the CEO of Stark Industries… and while this elevates her to lofty heights, it has to make us wonder why she’s not involved in the Ultron debacle. After all, Stark has unleashed death and destruction on the world with one of his creations.

But with Iron Man going up against his former-ally Captain America, it looks as though he’ll need all the support he can get during ‘Civil War’. And that might mean a role for Pepper.

Considering that ‘Iron Man 4’ is yet to be confirmed, this could be one of the last chances for Paltrow to reprise her role… unless another ‘Iron Man’ sequel eventually rears its head. Will Gwyneth Paltrow appear in ‘Civil War’? For now, we’ll have to wait and see. But maybe it’s the right time for her to return.

‘Captain America: Civil War’ heads to cinemas on 29 April 2016.
