X-Men: Apocalypse Casting Rumours For Young Jean Grey, Cyclops & Storm

As has been well-reported, 2016’s ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ will recast mutants Jean Grey, Cyclops and Storm as young adults who will star alongside the series’ rebooted, younger cast in the 80s-set superhero epic.

Names like Chloe Grace Moretz, Elle Fanning, Hailee Steinfeld, Charlie Rowe, Timothee Chalamet and ‘EastEnders’ star Ben Hardy have previously been linked with the roles, but a new report has now linked new names to the highly-sought after parts.

Latino Review now claim that ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’ star Taron Egerton, ‘Mud’s Tye Sheridan and Brit Jamie Blackley are all testing for the part of Scott Summers, aka Cyclops.

New names testing for Jean Grey include ‘Hanna’ star Saoirse Ronan and Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark in HBO’s ‘Game of Thrones’.

Alexandra Shipp, who will appear in NWA biopic ‘Straight Outta Compton’ is the first name linked to the role of Storm, as is Zendaya Coleman who has a background in television series ‘Shake it Up!’ and ‘K.C. Undercover’.

There’s still plenty of time for casting to continue before the cameras start rolling in April.

Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender will reprise their roles alongside Hugh Jackman, Nicholas Hoult, Channing Tatum and Oscar Isaac as their super-mutant foe Apocalypse.

‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ will be released on 19 May, 2016.
