X-Men: Apocalypse Sees The Return Of Havok

It looks as though Havok will return in ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’… as director Bryan Singer confirms that the classic mutant will be back.

Appearing on Instagram, the ‘X-Men’ director revealed that Alex Summers – the mutant known as Havok in ‘X-Men: First Class’ - will be back for the upcoming sequel. And he’ll be played by returning actor, Lucas Till.

Of course, Havok first appeared in ‘X-Men: First Class’ as one of the mutants recruited by Charles Xavier to help take on the rogue mutant and former-Nazi, Sebastian Shaw. But he also re-appeared in ‘Days of Future Past’ and now seems set to return once more.

But this time, he’s going to be fighting alongside his more famous brother…

A sibling of the far-more iconic mutant, Cyclops, it looks as though a family reunion is in order, as it was recently revealed that Scott Summers will be heading to ‘Apocalypse’. And he’ll be played by newcomer, Tye Sheridan.

But will they get along on screen?

Although most comic book incarnations see the brothers separated after becoming orphans, it’s ‘Age of Apocalypse’ which sets up a far more troubling origin. Encountering their real father, Cyclops is forced to kill him as the man becomes infected by a foe known only as the Brood.

But Havok refuses to accept that there wasn’t another way… and comes to resent his brother for his actions.

Will this be anything like the relationship we see in ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’? For now, we’ll have to wait and see. But getting both Cyclops and Havok on screen together certainly makes for an interesting dynamic.

‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ heads to cinemas on 19 May 2016.
