13 Emmerdale spoilers for next week

Emmerdale spoilers follow.

In next week's Emmerdale episodes, Meena puts Rishi in danger to play the hero and win her family's appreciation.

Meanwhile, as Jai and Laurel reach a heartbreaking decision about their pregnancy, Emmerdale airs a special single-story episode which also features Rhona and Marlon talking about Leo.

Here are the 13 big moments to watch.

1. Rishi's in danger

Rishi is in a perilous situation at the start of the week as he accidentally drives off the road. Slumped against his steering wheel and semi-conscious, it's clear he's not well.

When Rishi manages to come to, he makes a desperate call to Manpreet, telling her his pills weren't in the car.

Things get worse for Rishi at the roadside as his phone dies and he has to huddle under his coat to keep warm.

2. Meena plays the hero

At home, Manpreet panics when she can't find her phone and can't get in touch with Rishi. Worrying about his safety, Manpreet starts a search party, taking Meena and Priya with her.

Meena manages to find Rishi's whereabouts and looks like a real hero as she saves him. There's something fishy going on here!

Once they're all safely back at home, Meena basks in the admiration from Rishi and Manpreet, even if she knows it comes begrudgingly from Manpreet – she has no choice but to be grateful.

3. Meena's smug that her plan worked

Alone, it becomes obvious that Meena set up the drama herself – hiding Rishi's pills and Manpreet's phone. Her devious plan to get into everyone's good books has worked like a charm.

The next day Meena reminds Manpreet how she ruined her budding relationship with David. Manpreet is left feeling guilty, especially after Meena "rescued" Rishi.

Will Manpreet play into Meena's hands and confess to David that she was wrong about Meena?

Later Meena returns Manpreet's phone with a flimsy excuse that it was down the sofa – will Manpreet work out her scheme?

4. Laurel and Jai are told their baby has Down's syndrome

It's the beginning of a difficult for week for Laurel and Jai as they hear the results of the CVS test at the hospital.

The pair are told their baby has Down's syndrome and they return home numb, knowing there is a lot to process and discuss.

But any time to talk is interrupted when they walk into the house and are greeted excitedly by the kids. While they were out, Gabby found the scan photo and now they're all excited about a new addition to the family.

5. Rhona is upset to hear Laurel's turmoil

As Laurel and Jai struggle to deal with the news, Rhona notices something is wrong with Laurel and encourages her to off-load. But when Laurel explains about the pregnancy and the diagnosis, the atmosphere shifts.

With Laurel still in a raw state following the hospital visit, Rhona is left upset and angry at the situation. Laurel feels devastated.

6. Marlon and Rhona talk about the joy Leo brings

In a special episode centred around this storyline, we get to see the other side to the story as Rhona and Marlon talk about their son Leo.

As Laurel and Jai talk through their own situation across the street, Rhona and Marlon acknowledge what joy Leo has brought into their lives.

7. Jai and Laurel are devastated as they decide on termination

Jai and Laurel are united in turmoil as they struggle to make their decision. They spend a lot of time talking through all the factors involved but finally they reach a silent sadness.

Eventually, with both of them quietly devastated, they make a decision to have a termination.

8. Harriet's alarmed by someone in the graveyard

As the village vicar, Harriet's got a lot on her plate during the festive season, but soon she has a lot more to worry about than Christmas.

Harriet notices a woman standing in the graveyard, right where Malone is buried. Anxious, Harriet bares her soul in prayer as her guilt and demons come back to haunt her.

Mid-prayer Harriet is interrupted by the woman from the graveyard, Jean, and is left shaken. Jean reveals she is the daughter of the man laid to rest in the graveyard – buried right underneath Malone!

9. Harriet panics that Malone's body will be found

Harriet offers the woman her sympathies but she's stricken with terror when the woman reveals she's planning on having her father's body exhumed.

Panicked, Harriet calls the Bishop, trying to put a stop to the exhumation. The Bishop says she'll be making a visit in person to discuss the matter.

Harriet's fear consumes her, believing that sooner rather than later, Malone's body will be discovered.

10. Harriet goes to Will for help

At a loss over what to do, Harriet tells Will what has happened and he shares her panic.

With the gravity of the situation weighing heavily on Harriet, Will is adamant that something must be done. What will they do to hide this terrible secret?

11. Dawn is diagnosed with Pelvic inflammatory disease

Dawn's health takes a surprising turn as she drops unconscious, worrying her family. At the hospital, Dawn is assessed and later she goes home with upsetting news.

Opening up to Harriet and Will, Dawn tearfully reveals she has developed pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) from a Chlamydia infection. The doctors have told her this may mean she can't have any more kids.

12. Aaron learns that Paddy is planning a wedding to Chas

Aaron's suspicious when he sees Paddy and Marlon whispering together and after some digging he learns that Paddy is planning to marry Chas – at Christmas.

As an excited Paddy reveals all, he hopes this will show Chas his commitment after their troubled times this year. Let's just hope this is more successful than Marlon's Christmas wedding to Jessie!

13. Tracy plots to reunite Leyla and Liam

With Liam and Leyla's relationship in tatters after Gabby's meddling and lies, Tracy steps in to play cupid between the pair. She can't stand to see Leyla miserable and moping at Christmas.

Despite Liam admitting he could never trust Leyla again, will Tracy be able to help soften the situation and reunite them?

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
