Actor Danny Trejo is going to let fans tour his Animal Crossing island soon

Danny Trejo, is apparently a huge Animal Crossing fan (like the rest of us) and will soon be letting people tour his island.

While possibly one of the most bizarre crossovers we've ever come across, the Machette actor, known for playing gruff, violent characters, has revealed that even he isn't immune to the charms of the delightful game.

Speaking to the Washington Post about his new-found Animal Crossing obsession, Mr Trejo said: "I’m not into shooting or wiping out everybody. I do that in the movies. I’m just [into] relaxing."

What's more, Animal Talking host Gary Whitta confirmed the actor would also be inviting guests to his island in the game, writing on Twitter on Tuesday: "Starting in June, Danny Trejo will be our new Animal Crossing correspondent, taking us around his island and introducing us to all his animal friends!"​

We won't have to wait much longer to see how his island has turned out and which animals he's allowed to live on his own slice of heaven, as the tours are set to begin in June.

In a previous appearance on the Animal Crossing talk show, Trejo mentioned his love of cooking – he does have his own Taco restaurant and cookbook, after all – and now during his next appearance he's throwing his island gates wide open for some lucky people to have a tour.

Other guests of Animal Talking include video-game designer Cliff Bleszinksi – who worked on the Gears of War franchise – and Tim Schafer, who was a big name in LucasArts once upon a time.

You don't have to look far online to find that Animal Crossing appeals to all years and people.

Politician Alexandria Ocasio Cortez recently expressed a love of Animal Crossing and that she's into the game, while other celebrities like Brie Larson and Elijah Wood are almost definitely fans.

Elsewhere in the world, one Danny DeVito super-fan fashioned a relief of the actor's face in the land, making it visible on the map in wonderful detail.
