Alex Maxwell shares new track 'Let Go' - premiere

Alex Maxwell signed to Hollywood Records after she was spotted busking in her hometown of Madrid.

So far she's released two EPs and is currently preparing to release a third - which will include her new single “Let Go”.

It's a pleasingly catchy electro-pop track that was produced by P.S [Sebastian Sternberg and Pedro Vito, longtime collaborators of Jack Savoretti] with lilting, breathy vocals that call up obvious comparisons to Kate Bush.

Q&A with Alex Maxwell

What are you listening to at the moment?

I’ve recently discovered Parcels, I think they’re great, they have a really good sound. I have “Older” playing as we speak. Also obsessed with “Miami” by Baxter Dury.

What are your plans for the rest of 2017?

I’ve had a busy couple of months shooting my next music videos and getting songs finished and ready in the studio, so now these next couple of months I’m really going to focus on my writing, keep the creativity flowing… I’m also performing at The Social on the 27th of September which I’m looking forward to.

What was the first gig you ever played and what’s been the best so far?

First gig I played was at the Troubadour in west London. I worked there for a couple of months and used to hang there all the time, so it was great to go back and perform. I really enjoyed a Sofar Session I did at Hackney Wick. It was at a small café, we performed to a small but really attentive crowd. I love intimate little gigs like that, they’re really special.
