Yahoo News American Gods season 2 finally has a released date
American Gods fans, the second season definitely still exists and now there’s a release date to prove it.
To say that there have been complications making the new episodes would be an understatement, but Amazon Prime Video has now finally confirmed that the show will return for Prime members outside of the US on March 11, 2019.

There’s even a brand new synopsis teasing a cold war between the Gods, led by Mr. Wednesday (Ian McShane) from the ancient era and Mr World of the modern era.
Here’s the official season two synopsis: “In Season Two, the battle between Old Gods and New Gods continues to brew as we join Mr. Wednesday just a few short hours after his declaration of war and the epic showdown that ensued at Easter’s party.
“While Mr. World (Crispin Glover, Alice In Wonderland) plans revenge for Wednesday’s attack, Mr. Wednesday continues his quest to pitch the case for war to the Old Gods with Shadow, Laura (Emily Browning, Sucker Punch) and Mad Sweeney (Pablo Schreiber, Orange is the New Black) in tow.
"When things don’t go as planned after an encounter at the House on the Rock, both Old and New Gods, as well as those they meet along the way, find themselves on quests across America - all destined in some way for Cairo, Illinois.
“Shadow will begin to understand this strange world of the gods and carve out a place in it as a believer in order to survive. But change will require sacrifice.”
It’s almost taken a godly effort to make the second season happen off-screen too. Bryan Fuller and Michael Green quit as showrunners early into the writing process, and, later, their replacement Jesse Alexander was reportedly removed as well.
Emily Browning recently described the behind-the-scenes shake-up as “terrifying”, adding: “I think we were all nervous at the beginning.”
In the US, American Gods will return one day earlier on March 10, 2019 on Starz.
