Here's your exclusive first look at Flowers series 2

From Digital Spy

Channel 4's dark comedy Flowers is returning for a second series set in the summertime.

The unconventional Flowers family led by Maurice (Julian Barratt) and Deborah (Olivia Colman) will be back, along with their two children and Amy (Sophia Di Martino) and Donald (Daniel Rigby).

Also returning will be series creator Will Sharpe as Shun, the Japanese illustrator of Maurice's children's books and the family's lodger, while joining the cast is Harriet Walter as Hylda, Amy's girlfriend and a sort-of priest.

The second series is set a few years after the first and finds Maurice now on medication and finally in a better place.

Meanwhile, Deborah has channeled her husband's depression into her own success and is on the brink becoming a published author with her self-help book, Living with the Devil, all about coping with her husband's illness.

Things are also looking up for the Flowers' children as Donald is looking for love after starting an independent plumbing business, while Amy has invited her all-female music group 'The Pink Cuttlefish Orchestra' to stay at the Flowers' home.

While series one focused on Maurice's depression, the second series will explore living with bipolar disorder, and how a history of mental illness can pass through generations of a family.

Flowers series two promises to be just as hilarious and heartbreaking as the first, and what better time for this darkly comic tale to bloom than in the summer?
