Ahead of Arrow's seventh season being released on DVD and Blu-ray in the US, The CW has unveiled a deleted scene that will feature on the discs – and it just so happens to clear up one of the show's most recent mysteries.

In the latest instalment in the DC series, fans were curious as to why John Diggle's son Connor Hawke (Joseph David-Jones) seemed wary of Future Roy aka Arsenal (Colton Haynes) and Dinah Drake aka Black Canary (Juliana Harkavy) when he first met them.

Turns out, he knew of them but he didn't really know them (which is why he tied them up and housed them in a rundown bunker).

"You people are just names to me. People my father used to work with," Connor tells them in the clip, which was cut from the episode 'Star City Slayer' and shared exclusively via Entertainment Weekly. "There’s no telling what’s happened to you since then."

"Be happy that you were here with me and not with him," he adds, suggesting that Future Diggle (David Ramsey) isn't the biggest fan of his former pals Roy and Dinah either.

It's already been revealed that Arrow's eighth and final season is going to focus heavily on the Diggles, with Tales of the City star Charlie Barnett joining the cast as the adult John "J.J." Diggle Jr.

"We’re going to have a bit of sibling rivalry in our future storyline," showrunner Beth Schwartz previously told the aforementioned publication.

Arrow airs on The CW in the US, and on Sky One and NOW TV in the UK.
