Arrow star David Ramsey is more than ready to suit up as a member of the Green Lantern Corps.

The CW has teased its viewers for years with Easter eggs hinting at character John Diggle as a cosmic guardian, but fan theories are heating up even more after Arrow's penultimate season.

In last year's crossover event, Earth-90's Flash (John Wesley Shipp) mistook Diggle for his world's Green Lantern, and then Arrow revealed Diggle's stepfather is named General Stewart - meaning his stepfather has the same surname as DC's one-time Green Lantern ring bearer John Stewart.

Ramsey spoke about these hints at MCM London Comic Con over the weekend, revealing that he's starting to believe they are more than fun Easter eggs for DC comics super-fans.

"They continue to tease this thing... I don't know what's gonna happen with that," he admitted. "It's fun to tease it and I would love to jump into that mythos of John Stewart and Green Lantern, that whole universe."

"If John Diggle does take on the moniker of Green Lantern, does he also take on the moniker of becoming a Stewart, and if he does, what happens to that relationship between him and his father that led him to do that? There's a lot of story left for John Diggle."

There's a perfect opportunity for Diggle to become a Lantern later this year when the entire Arrowverse comes together as part of the Crisis on Infinite Earths storyline. The event will see Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) leading his allies from all worlds to stop a larger threat.

With Arrow ending next season, there is also potential for a Green Lantern spin-off featuring Ramsey in the lead taking off at some point as well.

Arrow airs Monday nights on The CW in the US, and Sky One in the UK.
