Bobby Davro recites nearly all the countries in the world at speed

Bobby Davro proved he's still the entertainer in a funny video of him reciting nearly all the countries in the world in a song.

Comedian Davro, 61, was in a club in Mayfair when he impressed diners by signing a song naming almost all the nations.

The comic - who is currently in panto - races his way through the song, and almost makes it to the end before fluffing it up.

The song is from 90s cartoon TV programme Animaniacs, and is notoriously hard to master.

Davro was with a group of friends and had been enjoying dinner and drinks at the Mayfair club for an hour in the early evening before his performance.

A visitor of the club recalled: "They'd been there for a while before I arrived at about 6pm, there was a lot of laughter and drinking and smoking at the table.

"He was having a good time as were his friends - there were about eight people at the table, all of them seemed to be friends.

"He was joking around all night long. He was loving making people laugh and then decided to sing this song.

"He didn't mind people filming. I think he was enjoying the attention."

The song 'Yakko's World' featured on the show in 1993 where one of the lead characters sings the names of the nations of the world to a jaunty tune.

Impressionist and actor Davro was enjoying dinner and drinks at a club in Mayfair in May 2019 when he surprised his guests with a performance of the famous song.

Dressed in a casual blue shirt and black waistcoat with an unlit cigarette in hand, Davro rattled through the song at a fast pace as he tried to remember the lyrics.

The former Copy Cats and EastEnders TV star seemed comfortable with the attention on him, turning to face the camera of a dinner guest at one point as he sung.

Known for his stand up comedy, the British star was doing well until the end of the video where he appears to blank on the lyrics and lets out a swear word instead.

An onlooker said: "They'd been there for a while before I arrived.

"He was having a good time as were his friends - there were about eight people at the table, all of them seemed to be friends.

Middlesex born Davro had his breakthrough performance in Sunday entertainment show Live From Her Majesty's in 1983 before appearing on comedy impressions sketch show Copy Cats.

His comedy career soared with the height of his popularity in the mid 80s seeing him host his own TV shows - Bobby Davro on the Box, Bobby Davro's TV Annual and Bobby Davro's TV Weekly.

As well as comedy, Davro ventured into acting and starred on EastEnders as Vinnie Monks, who was Shirley Carter's love interest in 2007.

Davro has performed in multiple theatre shows and pantomimes over the years, with his most recent appearance in 2017 as Silly Billy in Southend Cliffs Pavilion performance of Jack and the Beanstalk.

The comedian also took part in various competition shows, being the first male celebrity to be voted out on Dancing on Ice in 2010 and placing fourth on Celebrity Big Brother in 2015.
