Some bosses might give their workers a bottle of champagne for a doing a good job, some might think a hand shake and a quick “well done” will suffice.

But there’s Chatri Sityodtong at Mixed Martial Arts company Evolve

He treated employees to a five-star holiday to the Maldives as a thank you for a successful year.

Mr Sityodtong said the company enjoyed 30 per cent year-on-year growth, and he wanted to reward his staff for playing their part in that success.

So he took 100 of them to an exclusive resort – at a cost of £400,000, the Mirror reports.

But rather than being a one-off, Mr Sityodtong often treats his workers to such luxury holidays, saying it is a “normal part of Evolve culture”. In the past five years he has organised trips to Bali, Krabi, Khao Lak and Bintan in Indonesia.

He said: “These rewards are a small token of my heartfelt gratitude to all of the phenomenal rockstars at Evolve MMA.

“Every year, I take the entire team on an all-expenses-paid trip to a five-star luxury resort at a surprise destination.”

The holiday party included the company’s support staff as well as the trainers and members of the figt team, including ONE Women’s Atomweight World Champion Angela Lee.

“Many of my staff would love to travel the world, but do not have the means to do so,” he continued. “The vast majority of my team at Evolve come from humble backgrounds of poverty, tragedy, or adversity. For them, Evolve is the greatest opportunity to escape poverty and to achieve the life of their dreams.”

The entrepreneur said the holidays will continue for the foreseeable future but said he hasn’t yet settled on a destination for 2017.
