Boy, 9, goes missing after returning to school for lunchbox

A nine-year-old boy has been missing since yesterday after apparently returning to school to pick up his lunchbox.

Maklaine Bottomley was last seen at 3.15pm on Thursday on Webster Street in Ashton-on-Ribble, Preston, walking home with a foster parent.

It is thought he went back to Sacred Heart Primary School alone to pick up his lunchbox but he did not return home.

Maklaine is described as white and slim with mousey-brown hair.

He was last seen wearing a red jumper with a white polo shirt underneath, a navy blue parka-style coat, black trousers and black trainers.

Inspector Azz Khan of Preston Police said: "We are becoming ever more concerned about Maklaine as he is just nine years old and has been missing from home for nearly 24 hours now.

"We are worried about his welfare and if anyone has seen him or knows where he might be we would urge them to get in touch with us as soon as possible."

Anyone with information can call police on 101 quoting log 961 of 20 October.
