Buffalo Bill’s house from The Silence of the Lambs is being sold for £230,000

The famed house featured in The Silence of the Lambs is being sold for $298,500 (£229,270).

Fans will recognise the Pennsylvania property as Buffalo Bill’s home, where the film’s serial killer keeps his victims and dances to “Goodbye Horses” by Q Lazzarus in the cellar.

The recognisable location was also the setting for the film’s final showdown between Bill (Ted Levine) and FBI agent Clarice Starling (Jodie Foster).

However, the three-storey house is far less creepy than fans of the acclaimed movie will remember. Instead of a basement well, the property boasts a rose bed garden, a pool, and a gazebo.

The real estate listing suggests that the location’s ties to the legendary movie would make it a prime Airbnb destination for horror lovers.

Next year will mark the 30-year anniversary of Jonathan Demme’s 1991 film.

The Silence of the Lambs was feted with five Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay.

The film’s stars Anthony Hopkins and Foster also both picked up Best Actor awards.
