Cancelled following progression of the COVID-19 Omicron variant.

Comedian Joe Lycett was due to broadcast a Christmas-themed spectacular live from Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter, featuring a vogue ball with musician Self Esteem, an alternative Nativity, and numerous special guests.

Sadly, the event, planned to air live at 10pm on December 22, will now not be taking place – at least on that date, Joe has confirmed on Instagram.

"Unfortunately due to the progression of the Omicron variant I am very sad to announce we have cancelled next week's Mummy's Big Christmas Do! on Channel 4," he said over the weekend.

"Live TV involves a huge amount of people; Mummy doesn't want any of my team at risk! I'm obviously gutted – we had a very fun, loud and colourful show and I hope one day we can do it for you. Lots of love, Mummy xxx"

However, you will still be able to see Joe on Channel 4 this festive season in a Travel Man Christmas special – more on that later...
