Chuckle Brothers star Jimmy Patton – the older sibling of Paul and Barry Chuckle – has passed away at the age of 87.

The comedian appeared in episodes of ChuckleVision, and his death comes under a year after that of younger brother Barry.

"I just thought I'd let you know that the Chuckle Brothers older Brother Jimmy Patton has sadly passed away," the Chuckle Brothers' official Facebook page confirmed.

"Jimmy was a big part of chucklevision and the stage shows where he played the character No Slacking. RIP Jim Lad. And No Slacking."

Jimmy, whose real name was Jimmy Elliott, was part of the Patton Brothers double act alongside brother Brian.

In 2017 he married Amy Phillips, a fan he met via Facebook 59 years his junior, and said of his wife: "Amy had been a fan of ChuckleVision all of her life and commented on something I posted.

"It just went from there. I never thought I would find this kind of love again."

Following Barry's death in 2018, Paul said in a statement: "I've not just lost my brother, I've lost my theatrical partner of many, many years and my very best friend."

He added that he "leaves 50 years of laughter as his legacy which is something very special".
