Claire King was "nearly finished [off]" by a dramatic stunt on 'Emmerdale'.

The 60-year-old actress plays Kim Tate in the ITV soap, and Claire has joked that she's getting "too old" to be filming stunts.

Discussing the recent cliffhanger scene - which featured a powerful explosion - Claire shared: "Never mind the end for Kim. It nearly finished me off all of that, being thrown around in the woods in all that dirt and things. I’m too old for that. It was quite a test, actually."

Claire also revealed that she started a course of antibiotics after shooting the dramatic scenes.

The soap star told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "It was a very hot day if you remember but it's supposed to be October, so I have all these layers on and clothes, so it was rather sweaty.

"It was also very dirty and dry in the woods, so after filming I was on antibiotics for about a week because my nose and eye all swelled up.

"I blew my nose about a week after I finished my course and a great big seed pod flew out, and it had become infected so it must have blown up with all them wind machines, it was somewhat traumatic."

Kim was seriously injured in the explosion as she tried to help a gravely injured Harriet Finch.

But Claire is remaining tight-lipped about whether Kim and Harriet will survive the blast.

She said: "If Kim doesn't die ... Will is not gonna be too happy because they had this little thing going on.

"Kim does suspect that there's something going on between Harriet and Will, so I think Will could possibly blame Kim for whatever happens to Harriet. But I'd also like to say I've had a lovely time in Spain so it might be Kim who's [in trouble]."
