S Club 7 star Jo O’Meara has revealed she had to visit the hospital after being in the “worst pain.”

The singer has had trouble with back pain throughout her career, requiring her to undergo surgery in September.

In her latest post on Instagram, Jo revealed that she has been re-admitted to hospital, writing: “When am I gonna get a break?? I really thought I was on the road to recovery. 4am this morning the pain was the worst it’s been yet! So here we are again! I am devastated.”

Upon her previous visit to hospital, Jo disclosed that she had four bulging discs and sciatica, leaving her with no choice but to undergo surgery despite stating that “this back of mine would not stop [her] doing what [she] loves.”

After declaring the surgery initially went well, Jo wrote on Instagram: “Have just returned home from my surgery, and wanted to let you all know that the operation went well and the disc has finally gone!

“It is just incredible how far technology has come on. A major procedure done using keyhole surgery it’s actually mind blowing, I have even seen the doctors who treated me all those years ago when in S Club 7, they couldn’t believe my back lasted as long as it did lol.”

Jo, who performed in S Club 7 from 1999 to 2003 before returning for a one-off reunion in 2014, said she felt “completely lost” when the group originally split.

“On that very last show we were in the dressing room and went, 'Oh see you later then' and we all went into our own cars,” she said.

“I just remember sitting in the back of the car, I felt so empty. I felt completely lost because I thought, 'What do I do now? For it to just stop was a shock to the system.”
