Coleen Nolan has admitted panicking that she will get breast cancer, as three of her sisters have been diagnosed with the disease.

The Loose Women star’s elder sister Bernie Nolan died aged 52 after battling breast cancer.

This year, her sister Anne Nolan, 69, was also diagnosed with the disease on the same day sister Linda Nolan, 61, learned her own cancer had returned.

Coleen, 55, revealed on ITV’s The Real Full Monty On Ice: “Once I got over shock and trauma, then you go through the panic of, ‘Am I next?’ It's obviously in my family.”

The Nolan Sisters singer is taking part in the latest series of the ITV reality show which will see celebrities – including BGT star Ashley Banjo and actress Linda Lusardi – strip naked on ice to help raise cancer awareness.

Coleen said on Monday night’s episode: “Cancer took my sister Bernie in 2013, I didn't think life could get any worse than that then bam 2020 comes alone.

“My first thought with Anne and Linda was, ‘I can't bear losing any more sisters, I can't bear it!’

“It's been horrendous actually, you try and be strong for them, as they are being strong, there's just times when you feel so weak with it and angry, it's unfair.”

The Loose Women star said she hoped The Real Full Monty On Ice would encourage anyone who noticed any signs of cancer to go to their GP and get tested.

She said: “Anne went very quickly when she found hers. She's just had her test results and the cancer has gone, it's an even more important message to get across just go [to the doctor], don't be scared it can save your life.”

Anne and Linda finished their cancer treatment in September after being diagnosed in May.

In August this year Coleen confessed she was considering a mastectomy.

She said: “Of course. Seeing what Anne and Linda are going through has made me think a lot about having a mastectomy.

“I’ve been lying in bed at night, looking down at my breasts and thinking, ‘Am I just walking around with two timebombs here?’ If that’s a possibility, maybe I need to get rid of them.”

And Linda has previously revealed all the Nolan sisters had been tested for BRCA gene mutation that increases your risk of cancer and none of them have it.

She said: “We have been told there will be a rogue gene in there somewhere that they haven’t discovered yet. It’s scary for our other sisters and of course the girls that are married that have daughters, well sons as well. It is very scary in that respect.”

The Nolan Sisters, including Maureen and Denise, found fame as part of a girl group in 1974 with hits including I’m In The Mood For Dancing.
