Disney certainly knows how to deliver quality content – it’s been doing it for 100 years.

This March there’s a whole range of new shows and films coming onto Disney+ for people to enjoy. From a Japanese historical drama to a superhero comedy series, take a look below to find your next obsession.

Shōgun – March 5

Shōgun is a 10-part historical drama following the battle for power between different noble families in Japan at the turn of the 17th century. The series, which has been picking up some really fantastic reviews, is based on James Clavell’s 1975 best-seller. “Strap yourself in for a wild adventure,” said one critic. “This lavish adaptation of the classic samurai novel is beautiful, intellectual fare.” Its first two episodes were released on February 27. Go back, watch them, and get ready for a gruesome, enthralling, epic.

Extraordinary (Season 2) – March 5

Extraordinary, the superb, award-winning superhero comedy set in London, is happily back for a second season, promising more existential musings from Jen (Máiréad Tyers) as she continues to try and get a handle on being the only person without superpowers and grapples with her personal life.

Poor Things – March 7

You’d have to have been living under a rock to have missed Poor Things, Yorgos Lanthimos’ latest project, over the past couple of months. Starring Emma Stone, Mark Ruffalo and Willem Dafoe, the Frankenstein-style tale has been picking up multiple awards, and is currently in the running for 11 Oscars. The film follows the experiences of Stone’s Bella – a woman who has a baby’s brain installed into her body – as she comes to learn about the world.

Taylor Swift, The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version) – March 15

Taylor Swift’s Eras tour has broken nearly every record in the book. It has already made over $1 billion in revenue – the first to ever do so – and there are still 72 stops to go. In fact, it’s been so successful that Swift has actually had an impact on the US economy, with the Wall Street Journal describing the effect as Taylornomics. Even the concert film has done ridiculously well, making $37 million in the first day of pre-sales in the US alone. Now it’s landing on Disney+, with four additional main show songs, and a post-credits “acoustic collection” featuring unseen performances.

Renegade Nell – March 29

Sally Wainwright, the widely-adored writer of Happy Valley and Gentleman Jack, has again turned her hand to a historical adventure series in this show about an 18th century female highwayman (highwaywoman?). Starring Louisa Harland (Orla in Derry Girls) as Nell, a young fugitive, the series follows what happens when she finds herself framed for murder and comes across a magical spirit called Billy Blind.

MADU – March 29

MADU is the real life Billy Elliot-style story of 12-year-old Anthony Madu from Lagos, Nigeria, a talented young ballet dancer. It follows how he was sent to England for seven years to train at one of the world’s most prestigious ballet schools – leaving behind his family, friends and culture. This moving documentary explores his journey as he pursues his dreams.
