Colson Smith would love Lucy Fallon to return to 'Coronation Street'.

The 23-year-old actor has played Craig Tinker on the ITV show for more than a decade, and he is keen to be reunited with his former co-star Lucy - who played Bethany Platt from 2015 until 2020 - admitting all of his co-stars would be "very happy" if she returned to Weatherfield.

When asked which former 'Corrie' star he would love to make a comeback, he said: “It has to be Lucy Fallon, who played Bethany Platt. She’s one of my best mates now and we get on so well.

“Working with her is like working with Lisa [George, aka Beth] and Ellie [Leah, aka Faye] – we always support each other. Craig and Bethany were a great duo and Lucy’s a brilliant person to have around, everyone would be very happy if she came back.”

Colson, who’s played police constable Craig since the age of 11, said if he could play any other character on the show it would be Nathan Graham's alter-ego, footballer James Bailey, because the Leeds United fan would be able to "live out my footballer dream".

He added: “I think that’s the closest I’d ever get. He gets to wear a tracksuit all day long, whereas I have to put on a 10-layer police uniform, which is fine until we get to summer and I’m left sweltering.”

Most recently, Colson competed on the ITV reality series ‘The Games’, and he loved appearing on TV as himself rather than a character for a change.

He told Inside Soap magazine: “It was great, and I liked doing something as Colson rather than Craig. It was a great opportunity and I’m so glad 'Corrie' let me wave the flag to represent them.

“My favourite event was the kayaking because it was so much fun, like being on a stag do! And the worst was the hurdles by a country mile, I never wasn’t to see a hurdle ever again.”
