Rebecca Ryan is pregnant.

The 31-year-old actress - who is best known for her role as Debbie Gallagher in Channel 4 drama 'Shameless' but more recently starred as Lydia Chambers on 'Coronation Street' - took to social media on Thursday (29.12.22) to announce that she and her husband Dan Acraman are expecting their first child together.

Alongside a snap of herself posing alongside a Christmas tree, she wrote on Instagram: "I thought this year couldn’t get any better after marrying the man of my dreams, but it turns out it can…[heart emoji] Can’t wait to become a mummy in 2023 x" (sic)

Rebecca was inundated with comments of congratulatory messages from fellow TV stars, including Elle Mulvaney - who plays Amy Barlow on 'Coronation Street' -, who wrote: "So so happy for you!!!" while Sarah Platt actress Tina O'Brien said "Congratulations so happy for you" and 'Emmerdale' actor Danny Miller wrote: "Congrats Becky!!!!!! ", emblazoning his comment with a string of heart emojis.

In September, the former 'Waterloo Road' actress revealed that she and Dan had tied the knot and admitted that he was the "most amazing" man she could have ever wished for.

She wrote: "The day I married my soul mate, my best friend and the most amazing husband I could ever wish for!

All that changes its only everything when the right one comes along. Here's to forever!"

However, the big day was postponed because of COVID-19 lockdowns, with Rebecca becoming determined to tie the knot in 2022.

She said: "Second time trying to plan my wedding! The first one was cancelled due to Covid so we are back to square one! No date, no venue and still wanting to get married this year. I wish I was an organised person!"
