Corrie's Nina seeks professional help after worrying Asha scenes

Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street's Nina Lucas will decide to seek out professional help for her anxiety next week, after her fears over Asha Alahan's safety come to a head.

Nina's growing anxiety has led to her feeling terrified that something bad might happen to Asha (Tanisha Gorey) and, this week, she panics over Asha's planned trip to visit Glasgow University and locks her in the café in a bid to stop her from going, worried about reports of flooding.

Following the concerning incident, Nina (Mollie Gallagher) decides that she needs to seek help and, in scenes airing next week, she is grateful when Roy Cropper (David Neilson) offers to accompany her to her doctor's appointment to support her.

After the appointment, Nina tells Roy and Asha that the doctor has put her on the waiting list for some counselling.

The doctor has also advised Nina that she should try to find methods to tackle her anxiety in the meantime, after it came to a head over the Glasgow incident.

Will Nina manage to make some positive progress after everything that she's been through?

After an incredibly difficult 2021 for Nina, she finally confided in girlfriend Asha just after Christmas that she has been suffering from anxiety, having shut herself away in the café over the festive period.

While Asha has been a constant source of support for Nina, Nina's fears that something bad might happen to her loved ones have continued and she has been battling anxiety attacks for weeks.

Coronation Street airs these scenes on Wednesday, February 9 at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
