A couple have been jailed after police discovered a drugs haul worth nearly more than £180,000 at their home in a “peaceful” village.

Eddie Ransome, 29, and Jodi Dawkin, 24, were arrested in June last year after police raided their home in Holywell, Cambridgeshire.

Officers from Cambridgeshire Police discovered 820g of cocaine, and 237g of ketamine and MDMA tablets, with a street value of £87,780.

They also found and seized a holdall containing £96,862, as well as a white BMW M3 and a Bentley Continental.

Police said they raided the property after receiving reports that the couple were dealing drugs in the "peaceful" village of Holywell, with a population of just 2,500 people.

On Monday the couple appeared at Huntingdon Crown Court for sentencing having previously admitted to possession with intent to supply cocaine, MDMA, and ketamine.

Ransome was sentenced to six years, after also pleading guilty to concealing criminal property, whilst Dawkin was jailed for 40 months.

PC Luke Charlton said: "This pair were running an illegal drugs business across Huntingdonshire from their home in a small, peaceful village.

"This seizure will have significantly disrupted dealing in the area and today’s sentence serves a message to others who deal drugs in the county.

"Drugs and drug related crime can have a negative impact on our communities and its use can harm the health and safety of our residents.

"To keep our communities safe, we encourage you to look out for common signs of drug dealing and let us know if you see anything suspicious."
