Yahoo News The Craft remake looks like it's happening
The 1996 cult classic The Craft is getting a modern-day reboot, and a director has already been named.
Actress and indie filmmaker Zoe Lister-Jones (Life in Pieces, New Girl) is in line to write and direct the remake.
The original film told the story of a girl with telekinetic powers, who is befriended by a group of three wannabe witches after she transfers to a new high school in Los Angeles.

Robin Tunney, Fairuza Balk, Neve Campbell and Rachel True starred as the four power-mad witches who wrecked havoc in their school, casting spells and curses on anyone who looked at them the wrong way.
Columbia Pictures and Blumhouse are producing the remake, along with with Douglas Wick and Lucy Fisher's Red Wagon Entertainment, which was behind the original film.
Daniel Casey will be co-writing the reboot, which will see all of the main characters' names changed. There's no word yet, however, on how many changes will be made to the original plot.

Lister-Jones wrote, produced and starred in the 2012 film Lola Versus and is also behind indie movies Breaking Upwards and Band Aid.
This remake of The Craft has been a long time coming, with Sony originally developing the project in 2015 and up-and-coming horror filmmaker Leigh Janiak tipped to write and direct.
Janiak was tipped to co-write the script with Phil Graziadei, who made her big break co-writing the movie Honeymoon.
