Dan Walker has voiced his disgust at seeing ITV reporter Jonathan Swain wearing a split England and Wales shirt.

The two British football teams will face each other today in a crucial match at the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar.

Walker shared a picture of Swain in the shirt on Twitter commenting: "NO! NO! NO! NO! #ENGWAL" along with two nausea emojis.

Swain was reporting on split loyalties between fans for Good Morning Britain and Lorraine live from Qatar.

He said of his shirt: "Not my idea, I have to say. But I think I am half-qualified to wear this - I do have a mother who's actually form mid-Wales. From Llanidloes believe it or not."

Wales must beat England in the crunch match in order to have any chance of progressing to the knockout stages of the tournament.

If England beat Wales they will automatically qualify for the last-16 as group winners.

Many fans agreed with Walker that the shirt was offensive.

One said: "Blimey you thought the half and half scarves were bad enough."

Another commented: "Couldn’t agree more, Dan. It’s awful."

And one replied to the Tweet: "Classic case of “just because you can, doesn’t mean you should”.

But some felt the shirt was a good idea.

One follower commented: "I would wear one."

And many just confused ITV news reporter Swain for former health secretary and I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! contestant Matt Hancock'.

And another said: "I thought that was Matt Hancock at first."
