Dani Dyer is "beyond proud" of her boyfriend Jarrod Bowen after he received an England call up.

The former 'Love Island' star took to Instagram to praise her pro footballer partner - who plays for West Ham United - after he was called up to the Three Lions squad for their upcoming Nations League fixtures against Hungary, Germany and Italy.

Dani wrote: "Beyond proud of you. You deserve this so much. love you more every single day. bring it on @england (sic)"

It is Jarrod's first call up to the England squad after he has been in fine form for West Ham this season.

A message on the official England Twitter account posted: "Congratulations on your first #ThreeLions call up, @_JarrodBowen!"

England manager Gareth Southgate admitted he was planning to call up Jarrod - who previously played for Hereford United and Hull City - earlier this year, but he got injured.

He said: "We were certainly thinking about involving him in March, before he got injured.

"I think he's a goal threat, I think he's direct. I think his journey is really interesting in terms of the experiences he's had.

"He's thoroughly deserved his call up."

Dani's dad, 'EastEnders' actor Danny Dyer - who is a big fan of the Hammers - has previously joked he is "in love" with Jarrod.

Speaking to Dani, he said: "I know you get very shy around this and maybe one day we will discuss it properly.

"It's interesting I'm probably more in love with your boyfriend than you are."
