Danielle Harold is planning to move into the movie business after being axed from 'EastEnders'.

The 30-year-old actress starred as Lola Pearce in the BBC One soap from 2011 until 2015 before making a return in 2019, but "can't wait" to find a new role after her character is killed off.

She told The Daily Star newspaper: "'EastEnders' has been such a big part of my life, but I can't wait to start something new. I want to work on other things and play other characters. I can't wait to get out there and see what's possible."

While the circumstances surrounding her character's death are being kept under wraps, the soap star went on to reveal she is keen to take part in a TV drama next but is also looking to land movie role as she wants to do something "different."

She added: "I'd love to do a drama. I want to do something completely different to soaps. I'd love to get back to doing some films as well."

Danielle previously appeared in films including 'Dead Ringer', 'The Tombs' and 'Next Door'.

News of Danielle's exit from 'EastEnders' was revealed in May, with a source telling The Sun that the actress was shocked by the decision to kill off Lola.

The insider said: "Dan was in pieces. The cull came out of the blue. She was not expecting the chop because her character has been a firm favourite with viewers. She’ll be written out with no option to return.”

The source claimed Danielle was left "teary" but handled the news of her departure "like a true pro" and added that she is "eager to throw herself into the storyline."
