Reigning I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! champion Danny Miller has revealed which 2022 campmate he's backing – Seann Walsh.

Emmerdale actor Miller won the 2021 series which was based in Gwrych Castle in Wales and has been an avid viewer of this series, tweeting his thoughts during each episode.

Now, Miller has said he would like to hand over his crown to controversial comedian Walsh, known for accusations about toxic behaviour in his relationship with Rebecca Humphries, saying he "deserves to put all that behind him".

Walsh entered camp late with Matt Hancock and will be best known to many viewers for the scandal he caused last time he was on reality TV in 2018, when he was caught kissing married Strictly Come Dancing partner Katya Jones on then-girlfriend Humphries' birthday.

It prompted Humphries to share an open letter which is still her pinned tweet accusing Walsh of gaslighting and emotionally abusive behaviour throughout their relationship, and she also recently published a bestselling book detailing more about her experiences called Why Did You Stay?.

After Tuesday's episode of the ITV show, Miller tweeted: "Really do like @seannwalsh - very relatable, genuine and funny. Hope he gets back on track after this, deserves to put that all behind him and do well. Gets my vote anyway! #ImACelebrity"

Many of Miller's fans also appeared to be won over by him, with one replying: "agree. think he’s been so genuine in the show. he’s defo gained a fan in me!"

Someone else wrote: "He's such a lovely guy. Never heard of him before but going to follow him now. Seems so nice and genuine. Really like him."

Another person tweeted: "Love Seann. Hope he's in the top 3. And I hope he realises how much he's liked and leaves the past..... in the past. Good Luck to him. X"

In his early days in camp, Walsh addressed his behaviour towards Humphries, but said that apologising in front of other celebrities had been "the worst moment of my life".

He said: "I said sorry. I sat on Jonathan Ross's TV show and apologised. I sat next to Will.i.am and Samuel L. Jackson and apologised.

"That will forever be the weirdest moment of my life and I have to say probably the worst moment of my life."

Charity Women's Aid slammed the scene in a statement which read: "Imagine experiencing gaslighting by a partner, undergoing therapy, and then watching that person garner sympathy on national TV?

"We ask @ITV @imacelebrity to consider in their edit not platforming alleged abusers minimising their actions on screen. Solidarity with survivors."

Jill Scott, Owen Warner and Mike Tindall are currently the favourites to win.

I'm A Celebrity continues tonight at 9pm on ITV.
