Legends Of Tomorrow returned to The CW on Monday, October 22 at 9/8c, following new episodes of Arrow, and we're excited to see it play out until the finale.

But we're greedier than Constantine being offering infinite cigarettes, so season four isn't enough, we already want to know when we're going to see season five, who's going to be in it, and what it's going to be about.

So, we've done a bit of time travelling – and a bit of conjuring – to get up to speed with what we think's going to happen when Legends Of Tomorrow inevitably returns.

Well, we say when it inevitably returns, season five hasn't been greenlit yet, and fans are worried about the fact that Legends Of Tomorrow aren't involved in ArrowVerse's big crossover event this year.

"We're not in the crossover this year – Legends are not in them at all," Caity Lotz, who plays Sara Lance, confirmed to media including Digital Spy at San Diego Comic-Con. "We're doing our own thing."

"There's another show that's gonna get launched and it just became over capacity," Legends of Tomorrow showrunner Phil Klemmer explained.

"Our show is very, very difficult [to produce]... there are no easy episodes, everything pushes production and post-production and our actors to the absolute brink of exhaustion, and we frankly reached a breaking point."

Yeah, that doesn't sound good, does it? Still, if it does come back, every season since the first has debuted in October, so expect the time-skipping super-friends to come back in late October, 2019.

Unless there's some kind of weird plot-twist in season four (or offscreen contract negotiation disaster) we'd expect Sara Lance / White Canary (Caity Lotz), Ray Palmer / Atom (Brandon Routh), Mick Rory / Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell), Nate Heywood / Steel (Nick Zano), Zari Tomaz (Tala Ashe) all to return.

We're also going to bet that Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) pops up. Yeah, yeah, we know he's dead, but this is a time-travel show, and Rip's too good not to use ever again. It's been confirmed that he won't be in season four, but that just increases the chances of a season-five return as far as we're concerned.

Matt Ryan's John Constantine has joined the show permanently now, and the last show Constantine was a regular part of –his solo show Constantine – got cancelled after one season. So let's hope that the 'curse of Constantine' (the movie didn't get a sequel either) isn't a thing and he shows up in season five too.

With season four's introduction of magical beings across the timeline being something of a soft reboot (tied to Constantine's addition as a series regular), we'd expect a bunch of spell-weaving tricksters messing up the timeline to be too complicated to banish in one season.

That is, if there is a fifth season (please let there be a fifth season).

Not yet! But you'd better believe we'll be adding the trailer into this feature as soon as it lands – probably at next year's San Diego Comic-Con in July, with a bit of luck.
