The Exorcist TV series has nabbed Deadpool star Brianna Hildebrand as one of the new female leads when it returns for its second season.

According to Deadline, she'll play a tough girl called Verity, a foster child who lives with former child psychologist Andrew Kim, and who will do anything for him and her siblings.

Season two of The Exorcist picks up with Father Tomas Ortega (Alfonso Herrera) and Marcus Keane (Ben Daniels) on the road, searching out evil.

They're led to Andrew, who runs a group home for five at-risk foster children, located on a secluded private island off the coast of Seattle and targeted by a powerful curse.

Sounds as terrifying as usual.

No need to panic though, her involvement in the show won't get in the way of her appearing in the Marvel sequel as Ryan Reynolds's sidekick Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and filming has already kicked off.

Jack Kesy has signed up to play the film's next big villain, while Atlanta star Zazie Beetz is on board as the powerful mutant Domino too.
