Denise Van Outen enjoyed a date night with her new boyfriend at the Grand Prix Ball , five months after splitting from fiancé Eddie Boxshall.

The TV presenter, 48, posed for pictures with former Italy Big Brother star-turned-property developer Jimmy Barba, 55, at the star-studded event at the Hurlingham Club in London on Wednesday night.

The following day, she went Instagram official by sharing a sweet selfie of her and Mr Barba on Insta Stories along with pictures on her main grid.

Barba and Van Outen are believed to only have been dating for a few weeks after being introduced through mutual friend Shaznay Lewis.

“It’s early days but everything is going really well and Denise is happy,” a source told MailOnline.

Barba became a household name in Italy after starring in the eleventh series of Big Brother (Grande Fratello) where he finished in fourth place.

Although he didn’t win the reality TV show, he kept viewers entertained during his stint in the Big Brother house after striking up romances with two of his housemates Rosa Baiano and Margherita Zanatta.

He then went on to launch a short-lived music career which saw him release three singles between 2012 and 2013.

On long-term friend Ferne Cottton’s Happy Place podcast, she said of her heartbreak: “It’s the worst. It’s horrible.

“It doesn’t matter who you are or where you are it hurts just as deep.”

The former Neighbours star said she recently turned to therapy for the first time ever after finding her self “literally flawed” by her relationship ending.

Giving an update on how she is doing now, she admitted she still had some healing to do.

“I’m good actually... I’m not fully healed. I’m getting there,” she assured.
