Denise Van Outen called off the wedding from her fiancé Eddie Boxshall.

Speaking out, the star confided in her fans that she has broken up from her love of seven years in a candid Instagram post.

The presenter, 47, said it “saddened” her to reveal the couple, who appeared on Celebrity Gogglebox together, had gone their separate ways.

Alongside a black and white photograph of herself walking the dogs, the actress shared a few words from the heart on her break up.

She wrote on Instagram: “Over the past couple of months, there has been much speculation regarding my relationship with Eddie.

“It saddens me to confirm that we are no longer a couple. I had to make the difficult decision not to continue in our relationship.

“I will always treasure the good times we spent together, and the memories made. We ask that you please respect our privacy at this time, especially for our children.”

The former flames had previously lived together at a home in Essex.

Ms Outen has daughter Betsy, 11, with Lee Mead while Mr Boxshall had two children from a previous relationship.

Previously, her spokesman said: “Denise is understandably upset about the news, but she remains optimistic for the future.

“Her priority is looking after her daughter and continuing to work on the many exciting projects she has coming up this year.”

In early January, Ms Outen seemingly hinted at her split from Mr Boxshall when she said she would rather sort out her garden than get married.

She told The Mirror: “We’ve not really been focusing on organising a wedding because we’ve been trying to get the house finished and get final things done, like a new patio.

“Besides, you can’t plan for anything at the moment so there’s no rush to do anything.

Young people plan weddings because they want to crack on and start a family but that’s not going to happen. It’s not like we are having any more children.
