Denise Van Outen has shared that she's still recovering from some of the injuries she sustained in Dancing on Ice practice.

She pulled out of the ITV programme earlier this year after one performance due to hurting her shoulder, with an MRI scan showing she experienced three bone fractures and a partial dislocation.

While the 46-year-old's bones have healed, her muscles are still repairing themselves.

"I’m still having physio," she told OK! magazine. "I did break my bones and they have healed. But I’ve still got some muscle tearing and muscle damage.

"Annoyingly, muscles take longer to repair than bones. It’s a bit of a slow process and it’s a case of doing all my exercises."

Explaining why she wouldn't be taking part in the programme anymore back in January, she shared: "I’ve tried as hard as I can to carry on because I love the show and the amazing team in front and behind the cameras.

"Initially we thought with rest I could make a return to the ice, but a recent MRI scan has shown that I have 3 bone fractures as well as a partial dislocation. OUCH! No wonder I’ve been in agony."

The presenter has shared that she was glad to be kept busy with the show, among other projects, during lockdown.

The season was ultimately won by Capital Breakfast DJ Sonny Jay and his skating partner Angela Egan after the final was brought forward a week due to the number of contestants having to withdraw.

Emmerdale actor Joe-Warren Plant and comedian Rufus Hound left due to positive COVID tests while reality star Billie Shepherd and actor Jason Donovan also suffered injuries.
