Denise Van Outen has split from her fiance.

The former 'Big Breakfast' star - who has 11-year-old daughter Betsy with ex-husband Lee Mead - has confirmed she and Eddie Boxshall have parted ways after more than seven years together, admitting it was a "difficult" decision to end their relationship.

She wrote on Instagram: "Over the past couple of months, there has been much speculation regarding my relationship with Eddie.

"It saddens me to confirm that we are no longer a couple. I had to make the difficult decision not to continue in our relationship.

"I will always treasure the good times we spent together, and the memories made.

"We ask that you please respect our privacy at this time, especially for our children [heart emoji. (sic)"

While it is unclear when the pair split, it has been reported Denise asked Eddie to leave their Essex home two months ago aid claims he had been unfaithful.

The blonde beauty is now looking ahead to the future.

Her spokesperson said: “Denise is understandably upset about the news, but she remains optimistic for the future.

"Her priority is looking after her daughter and continuing to work on the many exciting projects she has coming up this year.”

The 47-year-old presenter's confirmation the relationship is over comes after she recently admitted organising her wedding hadn't been a priority for her or Eddie, who has two adult children from a previous relationship.

She said: "We’ve not really been focusing on organising a wedding because we’ve been trying to get the house finished and get things done, like a new patio.

"Besides, you can’t plan for anything at the moment so there’s no rush to do anything."

And the 'Celebrity Gogglebox' star explained there was also no immediate need for them to get married because she and Eddie would "not be having kids" together.

She said: “Young people plan weddings because they want to crack on and start a family but that’s not going to happen. It’s not like we are having any more children."
