Yahoo News Dexter revival casts The Mandalorian's Julia Jones
Dexter's revival series has unveiled a number of new cast members, while also teasing details of the show's setting.
Following on from the surprise news last year that the show would be returning (despite coming to an end nearly eight years ago), we now have some more clues about where things are headed thanks to some new character descriptions.
Via Deadline, The Mandalorian's Julia Jones has been cast in the role of Angela Bishop, who is the first Native American chief of police in her town in upstate New York – offering us a big reveal about the setting.

Johnny Sequoyah (Believe) has been announced to play Bishop's brash and opinionated teenage daughter, Audrey, while Alano Miller (Sylvie's Love) plays Logan, the sergeant for the Iron Lake Police Department, who is also the assistant wrestling coach for the local high school.
Finally, Jack Alcott (The Good Lord Bird) has been cast in the role of Randall, whom Dexter (Michael C Hall) has a meaningful encounter with.
They all join Clancy Brown (The Flash), who was previously announced to be playing the series' main villain Kurt Caldwell, the "unofficial mayor" of Iron Lake.
"Powerful, generous, loved by everyone – he's a true man of the people," his character description reads. "If he's got your back, consider yourself blessed. But should you cross Kurt, or hurt anyone that he cares for, God help you."
Speaking about the revival series, Hall admitted that "people found the way the show left things pretty unsatisfying", adding: "There's always been a hope that a story would emerge that would be worth telling.
"I include myself in the group of people that wondered, 'What the hell happened to that guy?' So I'm excited to step back into it. I've never had that experience of playing a character this many years on."
Dexter will return on Showtime in the US.
