DNA Journey to return with Hugh Bonneville, Adrian Dunbar, and Oti and Motsi Mabuse

DNA Journey has signed up a star list of family tree explorers for its next series, including Hugh Bonneville, Adrian Dunbar, and sisters Oti and Motsi Mabuse.

The ITV genealogy series sees celebrities discover more about their ancestors and find long-lost living relatives across the globe, working in pairs to research their families.

Series four is set to launch on ITV this year, with four more famous duos ready to embark on the road trip of a lifetime as they find out more about their roots.

The pairs taking part this time are Downton Abbey star Bonneville and comedian John Bishop, Line of Duty's Dunbar and Neil Morrissey, The Last Leg star Alex Brooker and comedian Johnny Vegas, and Strictly Come Dancing star sisters Oti and Motsi Mabuse.

Previous series have included Torvill and Dean, Ant and Dec, Freddie Flintoff and Jamie Redknapp, The Chase's Anne Hegerty and Shaun Wallace, Alison Steadman and Larry Lamb, Kate Garraway and Alison Hammond, and Amanda Holden and Alan Carr.

Head of entertainment commissioning at ITV Katie Rawcliffe said: "DNA Journey delves deep into the celebrity’s family history and has unearthed some astonishing revelations over the last few years. It’s great to see these famous faces sharing their journey with each other and we’ve got another great line up with some more fascinating surprises."

Programme makers Voltage TV and Mitre Studios teased that there are some big revelations to come in the new series.

Kathleen Larkin, executive producer at Voltage TV said: "This emotional series has some jaw dropping revelations showing that some of our celebrity pairings are more connected to each other than they ever dreamed of."
