Later, the actress shared an old family photograph of herself stood with Peter and her brother, before thanking fans for their kind words during this difficult period.

But her final post of the day was the tragic confirmation of his death.

She wrote: "RIP Peter Myles [heart emoji] My dear Dad died only a few hours ago. It was the coronavirus that finally took him."

Back in 2018, Sophia revealed that her father had been suffering from Parkinson's disease and sh explained that she wanted to show his care at this time by filming a documentary on the effects of coronavirus.

Earlier in the day yesterday, she shared a video message stating: "I took a news crew from CBS with me to document the day yesterday when I went to see him which is going to be broadcast on Monday, I believe."

This will now be a more poignant tribute to her father.
