Doctor Who actor Tanya Fear has been declared a missing person in the US.

The 31-year-old British actor and stand-up comedian – who played Dr Jade McIntyre in a 2018 episode of the BBC sci-fi series – has not been seen since 9 September, when she was in the Hollywood Bowl area of Los Angeles, California.

Fear has been reported missing by concerned members of her family, who say they are very "worried" and emphasised she has no family in the US.

Friend Alicia Haynes posted on Twitter: "A girl I know is missing! She was last seen in the LA area on 9/9/21. No one has seen or heard from her since."

She added that Fear's family in the UK and her friends in the US have not heard from her since 9 September.

Born Tanyaradzwa Fear and also known as Pauline Fear, the actor is described as 5’3″, weighing 140lbs [10st/64kg], and with black curly Afro hair, dark brown eyes and an English accent.

She had been performing a series of stand-up comedy gigs in LA at venues including the HaHa Club and the Comedy Nook.

Her cousin Tendai tweeted: "My cousin is missing, she has no family in the US and we’re all really worried."

She said Fear was last seen wearing a short-sleeved brown collared fitted top with a few buttons at the top and dark plaid trousers.

Friend Aurora Perrineau shared a recent photograph of the actor wearing a facemask.

Doctor Who fans have been quick to help by retweeting and sharing the reports and pictures.

Tendai said: "Tanya loves her Dr Who fans soooo much because of things like this!! Thank you for all your support."

The Doctor Who episode she appeared in, Arachnids In The UK, depicts giant spiders taking over the city of Sheffield.

She has since starred in a series of short films called Shoot Your Shot that she also wrote and directed.
