- rememeber ' don't go around band names Choriza May and River Medway have been eliminated from 'RuPaul's Drag Race UK'.

Following their departures, the queens opened up about how they were feeling after failing to wow the judges with their performance in the legendary maxi challenge, ‘Snatch Game’, which featured celebrity contestants; the comedian and ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ competitor Judi Love, and former Girls Aloud member Nadine Coyle.

Choriza said: “Well it was sad, because I genuinely was having so much fun doing it. I just wanted to go all the way for many reasons. I wanted to win but I was also having a genuinely great time. It was like being told 'You can’t play with us anymore, go back to your hotel.'

“It was certainly very sad but my main goal was to represent Newcastle and Spanish drag - and to do it well. I think I accomplished that, so I left in peace."

River said: “I was really devastated! Everyone wants to make it all the way, but I’m really happy with everything I’ve done on the show. I’ve realised nothing good ever comes from being upset about things that are out of your control.

"All you can do is focus on the positives! When you do an exam, you might get some questions wrong but you can still be proud of yourself for finishing it. And just because you got some wrong, it doesn’t take it away from the stuff you got right.”

The two sashayed away after failing to impress the judges, who, along with regulars RuPaul, Michelle Visage and Graham Norton, included a guest judge, singer Lulu.

Choriza was told by Graham that her impression of 90s singer Margarita Pracatan “ran out of steam”, while River “let down” Michelle with her performance of ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ star Amy Childs in 'Snatch Game'.

Lulu praised Choriza’s outfit, a nod to Carmen Miranda, saying: “I’m a big fan of the old Carmen Miranda movies, so when you walked on I got it immediately. Beautiful!”

River’s look was met with less acclaim, as Michelle commented: "Tonight on the runway, I’m not crazy about it. It’s just very crafty for me. I think we’re at this point in the competition where, if we’re going to do a crafty on purpose – which I love – you have to bring it to the next level.”

As they left the show - after failing to wow RuPaul with their lip-sync to Lulu's song 'Shout' - both Queens had a parting message for the camera.

Choriza said: “It’s Brexit bitches! I think everyone back home watching, my family, my boyfriend, I think they are going to be really proud of me.”

River said: “It feels so s***, but just because I didn’t go all the way, it doesn’t mean I haven’t done really good. I’m really happy with my time here.”

‘RuPaul’s Drag Race UK’ series three airs each week on Thursdays after it becomes available to stream on BBC iPlayer at 7pm.
