You wouldn't think the dating agency experts on Celebs Go Dating would have to warn their famous clients to stay away from sexual roleplay on the first date, right?

Apparently, someone should have said something to former EastEnders star Dean Gaffney, because BDSM is apparently exactly the kind of date chat he enjoys when getting to know a potential girlfriend.

Or at least that's all we can gather from a very cringey first date he had during Thursday's Celebs Go Dating, where he took out former Ann Summers employee and ex-EastEnders background artist Melanie.

"Our pasts have crossed before," Melanie explained, before revealing she worked on EastEnders for ten years.

The date started off fine, and Melanie even seemed chill when Dean jokingly referenced his experience crossing paths with a giant sex toy. But… our old pal Robbie Jackson just wasn't feeling it.

"Melanie is lovely and easy to listen to. However, I'm not so sure there's a spark," he admitted.

So, since the former Walford resident had nothing to lose, he decided to make things completely uncomfortable by telling a story about going to sex shops with his ex.

"We'd do this game where we would try and shock people," he explained. "We would go into, say, Ann Summers and I would say, 'Sit!' And she would have to kneel down."

A look of pure horror slowly wiped across his date Melanie's face – and, yes, we're right there with you, Melanie! A scary glimpse into a very avoidable future, isn't it?

All this from the man who earnestly said he was going on the E4 dating show because dating does get "harder when you're older".

He revealed that his daughters also had a condition for him going on Celebs Go Dating: "They were the first people I asked before I signed up to do the show, they were like, 'Dad, just don't embarrass us'."

Well…

Celebs Go Dating continues on Friday (February 28) and each weeknight for the next three weeks at 9pm on E4.
