Netflix's next Harlan Coben adaptation has added EastEnders actress Jo Joyner and Eddie Izzard to its cast.

Based on the author's bestselling thriller Stay Close, the series is scheduled to kick off production in the North West of England this spring, and already boasts Richard Armitage, Sarah Parish and James Nesbitt as cast members.

Stay Close's official synopsis sets the scene: "Three people living comfortable lives each conceal dark secrets from those closest to them; Megan, a working mother of three; Ray, the once promising documentary photographer, now stuck in a dead-end job pandering to celebrity-obsessed rich kids, and Broome, a detective unable to let go of a missing person's cold case.

"Lorraine, an old friend from Megan's past, delivers some shocking news which will impact on all three characters. As the past comes back to haunt them, threatening to ruin their lives and the lives of those around them, what will be their next move?"

Izzard takes on the role of "small-town lawyer" Harry, while Joyner is onboard as "quick-witted and highly observant" police detective Erin.

Off the back of The Stranger's success (another Coben creation), Daniel O'Hara is down as the lead director, as well as executive producer.

Stay Close should land on Netflix some time next year.
