EastEnders' Ruby Allen suffered a miscarriage in tragic scenes tonight (February 25).

Ruby (Louisa Lytton) recently discovered that she is actually pregnant, having spent the past few weeks lying to her husband Martin about carrying their baby.

Despite the happy news, Ruby was quickly thrown into a new dilemma given that the dates now don't add up.

As an excited Martin cooed over their '10-week' baby scan tonight, he told Ruby that he'd booked them a holiday over Easter to relax.

When Ruby suggested taking the kids as well, she found herself at odds with Stacey once again – who believed she was simply doing it to upset her.

As things started to turn nasty in The Vic, Ruby headed to the bathroom – before returning in a dazed manner.

Clearly distressed, Ruby phoned the hospital – explaining that she was seven weeks pregnant and bleeding.

At the hospital, Ruby was heartbroken when the sonographer struggled to find the heartbeat and confirmed that she was having a miscarriage.

However, when Ruby returned home later on, she couldn't bring herself to tell Martin what happened as he proudly framed their baby scan.

Fans will have to wait and see if Ruby talks to Martin, but the storyline is ultimately paving the way for her to have an explosive fight with Stacey, which results in her taking a tumble down the stairs.

By the time next week arrives, Stacey is feeling guilt-ridden over Ruby's accident, while Martin is seeking an outlet for his anger.

EastEnders continues on Friday (February 27) on BBC One.
