EastEnders star Samantha Womack opens up about future plans

EastEnders actress Samantha Womack revealed a few weeks back that she was cancer-free, months after her initial diagnosis.

Now, Womack has talked about her plans for 2023, both in terms of her career and her health.

"I’ll be doing everything I can with nutrition," she told OK! "I’ll be changing my diet, the way that I live, the amount of stress that I have. I’m absolutely going to make sure that I do everything I can to be as healthy as possible and to just look after my body...

"I’m looking forward to getting to Spain and working out and walking and just taking a breath every now and then. As a working mum, I spent a long time stressing and rushing around and didn’t ever stop to breathe and I’m determined to take that time."

Womack plans to open up a retreat near her home in Valencia, where people with cancer can go and rest. She also wants to use her profile to further help raise awareness.

Despite all the positivity, she added that she is afraid of being told that her cancer has returned.

"It’s weird because you’re cancer-free… for now. Anyone that’s had cancer will know that it will always be something you have to consider may come back at some point," she said.

"I don’t have it at the moment, but at the same time I don’t ever want to be in denial about the fact that cancer cells are really clever at multiplying, they find a way round.

"It would be crazy to say it’s not a thought that lives in your everyday brain, but it’s how that voice affects you. The truth is none of us know... To focus on worrying would be a waste of the time I’ve got."
